Wild Lotus Yoga Teacher Training Program
September 2008 - May 2009

SOUL SCHOOL
An Interdisciplinary Yoga and Spirituality Teacher Training Program

This one-of-a-kind program, guided by Sean and a revered team of expert visiting and local teachers, is designed for aspiring teachers, yoga students who wish to deepen their connection to yoga and spirituality, as well as current teachers who are seeking to bring more depth to their practice and teaching through continued study. We will explore the soulful connections between yoga, art, mythology, poetry, music, philosophy, and mystical practices from the world's spiritual traditions.

Through yoga practice -- including asana, pranayama, kriya , mantra, and meditation -- art, journaling, dance, play, self-inquiry, and community, we will journey into the sacred inner territory of our being, building the experience to guide others into that deep terrain. We will share methodology and cultivate the skills to teach an artful yoga class that nourishes our bodies and inspires a soulful and creative life. You will be given the opportunity to seek, trust, honor, and put into practice your unique voice as a yoga teacher. The program will also enable you to fulfill all the requirements to become a registered 200 hour yoga teacher through The Yoga Alliance, the national organization that registers teachers.

Guest teachers who will be helping to guide Soul School include author and meditation teacher Lorin Roche; Ayurvedic expert James Bailey; vinyasa pioneers and founders of Laughing Lotus Yoga in New York City and San Francisco Dana Flynn and Jasmine Tarkeshi; Grammy nominated kirtan artist and bhakti yoga teacher Jai Uttal; internationally renowned yoga and philosophy teacher Mitchel Bleier; Coil Yoga founder Katie Flinn; New Orleans senior rolfer and anatomy teacher John DeMahy, and New Orleans senior breathworker Jack Fontana; and more.

SOUL SCHOOL will begin and end with a 3 day, 3 night residential retreat in quiet Feliciana, LA - immersing ourselves deeply into the art of yoga and the joy of community amidst the piney woods, rustic cabins, and twin lakes.

The program will run for nine months, from September 2008 through May 2009. For most of those months, we will meet one weekend a month with one additional weekday evening session per month, and regular class attendance at Wild Lotus.  See schedule below. Applicants should be experienced yoga students with a consistent yoga practice.
